DESKTOP ENVIRONMENT — 2026
HYPRLAND RICE

FIG. 004 — SIGNATURE VISUAL
Overview
My daily-driver desktop: Arch Linux with Hyprland on Wayland, dressed in a custom rice built around the caelestia-dots base. A workspace tuned to the pixel for the work that happens between midnight and morning.
The Problem
A default desktop is someone else's idea of how you work. A pentester-developer workflow needs instant terminal access, precise window choreography, and an environment that never gets between intent and execution.
The Approach
Start from caelestia-dots, then bend every detail toward one operator: keybindings, animations, theming, and layout tuned until the machine feels like an extension of the hands. Catppuccin Mocha throughout, zsh with starship at the prompt, nvim as the only true editor.
Implementation
Version-controlled dotfiles maintaining the full Hyprland setup — window rules, keybinds, bars, themes, and shell integration — on top of the caelestia-dots foundation.
TECHNOLOGY
VISUALS

Result
The desktop I use every single day — continuously refined, kept as private dots.
Lessons
Ricing is systems thinking in miniature: every millisecond of animation and every keystroke saved compounds across a day of real work. The discipline of maintaining dotfiles mirrors the discipline of maintaining infrastructure.
